Being charged with a violent crime, such as manslaughter, is sometimes the result of something that seemed innocent enough when you were doing it. Consider the case of the woman who is now facing criminal charges in Missouri because she gave a woman illegal butt injections. The woman with the butt injections died. Now the woman who did the illegal procedure is facing first-degree involuntary manslaughter charges, which carries up to 7 years in prison.
The 22-year-old woman who died was given butt injections by the 44-year-old female defendant in a hotel in July. The young woman began to have trouble breathing after the procedure. She was taken to the hospital where she died after being taken off of life support.
The woman was said to have a silicone pulmonary embolism. The defendant in this case has a bond set at $200,000 cash. It is alleged that she injected a silicone substance into the younger woman’s buttocks.
A legal butt augmentation can average around $4,000, but many women are turning to illegal procedures instead of spending that amount of money. As it turns out, these illegal procedures are often associated with death.
Anyone who has been charged with a manslaughter charge because of negligent acts that led to a person’s death has the right to offer a defense.
